Before achieving the best possible outcome on your interior painting there are some things you need to take care of in preparing a room for interior painting. Believe it or not, preparing a room for interior painting will surely make a great difference.

Here is a list of a couple of the supplies and materials you will need in order to prepare a room for interior painting:

• Cloth
• Duct Tape
• Sanding Sponge
• Bucket
• Screwdriver
• Regular sponge
• Primer
• Rags
• Gloves

The first step when preparing a room for interior painting is to either remove furniture or cover it so that dust, debris, or paint doesn’t fall over your upholstery.  Once that has been done, proceed to using your cloth and cover your floors completely in order to protect them.

The next step is to remove all light switches and outlet covers so that way paint doesn’t stain them.  Furthermore, proceed to using the bucket for a water and soap solution which you will utilize to clean and wash your walls. The sponge should be dipped into the solutions and then gently wipe the walls.  You can remove excess water with rags from the wall.

Once that has been done, give the entire wall a proper sanding. You will also want to caulk any gaps between the wall and baseboard. And since we mentioned baseboards, use the duct tape to cover them and protect.

Once all is said and done, don’t forget to prime!
