When we have granite countertops, we always want to make sure they look sparkling and ravishing. And although some of us want our granite to look clean at all times, there are a couple of us who just don’t know how to clean granite countertops effectively. If that’s your case, don’t worry! Today we thought we’d give you some helpful tips and tricks on how to clean granite countertops effectively.

To start off granite countertop cleaning, begin by removing all debris and appliances so that you can reach all areas of the countertop without a problem.  You can use a duster or a rag to remove all debris from the countertops. You can also wipe up spills or stickiness off of the countertop by using a warm wet rag to remove all stains or stickiness.

Something you must know on how to clean granite countertops is that there is no real science or difficulty to cleaning them. It is actually quite simple to clean granite. All you really need is to mix water and a bit of dish detergent. You can make this simple solution in a small bucket. Make sure the soap and water is mixed well and balanced.

The next thing you need to do is get a cloth, and dip it into the solution. Don’t forget to wring out the cloth so that all excess liquid is removed. When you are wiping down the granite, a white cloth will do the job. You can use a micro fiber cloth to clean granite countertops.

If you have heard of cleaning granite countertops with vinegar, or any other type of lemon based cleaner, do not do it! Granite is generally tough, but it can easily be damaged by acidic formulas. If you ever use vinegar or any other similar liquid, it will eat away at the surface.

Once you have wiped down the countertops with soap and water, use another dry microfiber cloth to finish off the job.
